Continuing Formation

We believe that God calls us to grow in faith together, not in isolation. While our worship services are a beautiful space to praise God and hear the Word, it’s in small groups and shared learning that faith takes root and flourishes.

These spaces are where we build authentic relationships, support one another through life’s joys and struggles, and explore what it means to follow Jesus in our everyday lives—with all our questions, doubts, and hopes.

In response to the needs of our time, we’re working to make formation resources available in accessible formats, including video lessons you can use at home—on your own or with others.

Breaking Open the Word

Each Monday at 7:00 PM, we gather to reflect on the Scriptures for the upcoming Sunday. This is a space for prayerful listening, thoughtful conversation, and spiritual growth, open to all who seek to deepen their understanding of God’s Word.

We’re using At Home With the Word 2025, a rich resource that offers full Scripture texts, insights from scholars, and practical ways to live out the Gospel. You can purchase your copy from Liturgical Training Publications and Amazon. It will be conducted via Zoom. Contact the Bishop for the Zoom link.

Children’s Ministry

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me.”

At Abiding Presence Faith Community, we joyfully welcome children into a life of faith, wonder, and love. One of our core commitments is to help children grow closer to Jesus through meaningful experiences.

🎉 Celebrate Faith All Month Long!
September is full of opportunities to explore Catholic traditions and saints through creative activities. Check out these engaging ideas for families and children:

  • Saint Teresa of Calcutta (Sept 5): Learn about her life and make a kindness calendar or service jar.
  • Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Sept 8): Create a Marian crown or decorate letters spelling “MARY.”
  • Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Sept 14): Make a cross craft using natural materials or recycled items.
  • Our Lady of Sorrows (Sept 15): Explore the Seven Sorrows through a coloring activity or prayer petals.
  • Saint Vincent de Paul (Sept 27): Collect items for a local food pantry or make “blessing bags” for those in need.
  • Saint Michael and the Archangels (Sept 29): Bake angel-shaped cookies or make angel wings from paper plates.

Missions & Ecumenism

At Abiding Presence Faith Community, we believe that the Body of Christ is beautifully diverse and deeply interconnected. We are committed to building relationships with other small communities—across traditions, cultures, and neighborhoods—who share a heart for justice, compassion, and the Gospel.

If your community is interested in exploring shared prayer, service projects, or mutual support, we’d love to connect.
